The legend of Tarzan

Hello my darlings!! I know I am anything BUT consistent when it comes to my posts, but I swear it is not on purpose. I have had the biggest writer's block ever for the past few weeks, like, I couldn't even do my homework for the course I'm taking and that is only writing a freaking page on whatever I want. Now that I think about it, my longest writer's block was a couple of horrible months.

Anyway, good news! I finally went to the cinema here in Montreal! It wasn't that big of a deal, except it was, and I got to watch a movie without subtitles on the big screen for the first time in my life, and that was freaking awesome!! As the title of the post states, I saw Tarzan. So let's begin.

For all of you ladies out there, I can just say this: GO SEE THAT DUDE SHIRTLESS ON THE BIG SCREEN, you will not regret it I swear!! I mean, I've seen bodies and bodies in movies and TV shows, but this dude?? HOLY CRAP! It doesn't look real, but IT IS. JUST LOOK TO YOUR LEFT, I MEAN, SERIOUSLY?
Alexander Skarsgard has won a place in my hottie list of 2016 (yes, there will be a post about this at the end of the year. Why? BECAUSE I CAN). He is not only extremely hot, but also, he was good portraying the kind of the apes Tarzan in this movie.

Another hottie: Margot Robbie. I don't care what you say, I am a woman and I was attracted to this person the entire movie. I mean, yes, Alexander is hot and everything, but Margot??? She is impossibly beautiful!! Aside from the fact that she is an incredible actress. I went with my cousin, and we were just like 'could she BE any prettier?? It's not possible to be that pretty'. Sadly, yes, it is possible to be that pretty.

Aaaaand fangirling over!! Time to actually talk about the movie.

As a huge Tarzan fan - and I'm not talking about the Disney movie alone - they showed the origin story in a different way, but I loved it because it was realistic!! The apes didn't just welcome him home, he had to freaking power through a beating to get their respect.
We have Tarzan, now John Clayton III Lord Greystoke, and Jane living in London a few years after they got back from Africa. If you're a history freak like I am (NERD ALERT), you know that King Leopold II of Belgium, wanted to make his country great through colonies in Asia and Africa, although it took him a long time, in 1885 at the Berlin Conference, the Congo Free State, and are that was 76 TIMES LARGER THAN BELGIUM, was recognized under Leopold's personal rule and private army. Now, what the fuck does this have to do with Tarzan?? Well, it is set around that time! YAY! or not so yay...
Anyway, Leopold sent Leon Rom played by the AWESOME Cristoph Waltz, to Congo, to find the leader of this tribe to negotiate getting some precious metal or whatever, that is in their territory, and what happens? The freaking dude just wants them to bring Tarzan (cue suspenseful music).
So this Leon character starts thinking of a way to get the chief what he wants.
Now back to London, Tarzan is considered a favorite son by Queen Victoria, he receives a letter from Leopold or Leon I can't remember, inviting him to Congo, to help with the natives. He doesn't really want to go, but then Samuel L. Jackson shows up and tells him that Leopold wants to enslave the natives (which is an actual historically accurate thing, not the fact that Samuel L. Jackson said it, but the other thing. You know what I mean). Anywho, John and Jane go to Congo and shit hits the pan. DISASTER! Jane gets kidnapped and Tarzan has to find her.
Anyway, in the movie, there is no massacre of the people, Tarzan saves everyone and drives Leopold's forces away. I wish that's what actually happened but that motherfucking king is called The Butcher for a reason. Where the hell is that time machine when you need it? I would cut the dude's throat before he could kill so many people.
All in all, if you're looking for an action packed film with hot people in it, I fully recommend it! Go watch shirtless Alexander Skarsgard and tell me about it afterwards.

Til next time dearies!
